At Runway Nail Salon we're committed to providing you with a relaxing and stress free experience. We've created a list of some of the most frequently asked questions to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Where are you based?

RNS is based in Wickford, Essex, at the home of CND Grand Master Linzi Walker. Our location makes us ideal for clients residing in Woodham, Rayleigh, Basildon, Laindon and all other surrounding areas. Please be aware the salon is based on the first floor so will not be suitable for those who are not fully mobile

Where can I park?

There is ample space on the road, however, please note we accept no liability in the unlikely event of any damage being sustained to your vehicle while parking at Runway Nail Salon

Can I bring guests/visitors/children?

We understand the demands of family life and often a lack of time for those with children. We may be able to accomodate babies in car seats, but unfortunately we are unable to accommodate young children or other guests, due to limited space and insurance purposes. Because of this we are unable to make any exceptions to the rule, so please be aware that if you arrive for your appointment with children or guests accompanying you we will have to cancel your appointment and will be unable to fulfil your treatment. Please contact us if you have any questions or queries

Are you fully insured?

Yes. We are fully insured with The Association of Beauty Therapists (ABT) who are a specialist industry-leading insurer. Our documents are available to see upon request during your appointment

Are you fully trained?

Linzi is a fully trained HND qualified (NVQ Level 3) beauty therapist and CND Grand Master and has been working in the industry for over 15 years. She regularly attends the latest seminars, training events, and industry shows, to bring you the latest treatments and products

What products do you use and are they genuine?

At RNS we are passionate and dedicated to offering you the best possible treatments, not just for appearance, but also for nail health. We will only ever use genuine CND products purchased through the recognised official distributor in the UK, SweetSquared. There are many counterfeits and copies available in the market today, but Runway Nail Salon will never compromise the health of your nails. These fakes may appear to look like CND Shellac, but do not perform the same and may pose a risk to your nail health

What happens at my appointment?

You will be greeted by CND Grand Master Linzi Walker and escorted to the salon. You will then be given a thorough consultation which will include a nail health check and a discussion about what you would like to achieve - extra length or strength, or just a beautiful CND Shellac manicure. We would ask that you refrain from using mobile devices when the treatment has begun as the nails must not be contaminated once they have been prepped. At the end of the treatment you will be given tailored aftercare advice which should be followed to ensure you get the best from your treatment

What if I'm late for my appointment?

If you're late for your appointment we will endeavour to offer you the treatment you have booked, however, this may not always be possible due to time constraints. Please arrive promptly so we can give you all the time you and your nails deserve. However, please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for your appointment as we are unable to offer a waiting area due to the salon being home based

What if I need to cancel or change, or if I miss, my appointment?

We respectfully request you give at least 24 hours prior notice when cancelling or changing an appointment time to give us the chance to offer it to another client. Failure to give us notice may result in you still being charged for your treatment. Failing to attend your appointment without notice may mean we will be unable to accept future appointment requests

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept cash, all major debit and credit cards, American Express, and PayPal. Unfortunately we are unable to accept cheques or bank transfers.

Can anyone have their nails done?

As part of our commitment to your nail health there may be instances where we cannot safely carry out certain treatments, and reserve the right to request medical confirmation before commencing treatment

If your nails have been compromised during a visit to another salon, then please note that we may only be able to carry out a treatment in order to work towards restoring your nail health

Will "acrylic nails" damage my natural nails?

No. When nail enhancements are properly and professionally applied and removed, your nails will be as healthy as they were prior to your treatment. The problem occurs when your nails are over-buffed at the start of your treatment; unfortunately, this is deemed to be a necessary step in order to get the cheap Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) used in some salons to adhere to the nails. Once applied, the cured MMA is very, very tough and will not soak off - you may even have seen nails being pried off! The acrylic liquid (monomer) that we use at RNS is EMA (Ethyl Methacrylate) which has advanced adhesion properties meaning that we simply need to remove the shine from your nails prior to application
